I have some nostalgic feelings about this introduction to classical mythology because it was my text book when I took classics during my undergraduate studies.
Classical Mythology by Mark Morford and Robert Lenardon follows the same pattern as most other text books of this type. The authors present the main sources and the most popular stories. There are no real surprises here.
The part of this book that I especially appreciated was how it bridges from Greek to Roman myths. The Romans did not simply adopt the Greek myths without changes. Roman culture was different from Greek culture and how they used the Greek gods and changed them reflects those differences.
If you want to know what the Greek and Roman myths really say as opposed to what Mythicists claim they say, this is a great resource.
