Artemis II, Flat Earthers, and the Jesus Myth

Conspiracy Theories

We are living in historic times. For the first time in decades, astronauts have orbited the moon and have been able to capture spectacular photographs of parts of the moon we have never seen.

Earth

Among the photographs taken is a beautiful image of our own planet, Earth. Curiously, it is NOT flat.

You may or may not be aware that there is a growing flat earth movement. They truly believe that the Earth is flat and not a sphere.

The question to ask is: will flat earthers be convinced by the flight of Artemis II and the pictures of a round Earth that they are wrong.

Probably not.

There are always alternative theories. The pictures of Earth could be AI-generated. The Artemis II flight could have been faked. No matter what new evidence comes up, there will always be ways to explain it away.

This is exactly why I will NOT debate Jesus mythicists that claim that Jesus was not a historical figure.

That reason is that there is NO amount of sufficient evidence. Any evidence for Jesus could be faked, misunderstood, or misrepresented. There is ALWAYS a counter explanation.

Of course most of us do not go through life with that level of skepticism. Yes, when we get up in the morning and eat breakfast, we assume that is what really happened. It is possible we are just dreaming or we are hallucinating or perhaps there is some more radical explanation. But generally we take evidence at face value.

I believe that Artemis II orbited the moon, that the Earth is round, and that Jesus lived. All this despite my generally skeptical personality.
